care instructions

How long will my new porcelain veneer last?
Porcelain veneer will last over 10 years if you follow the care instructions properly.

How do I treat my porcelain veneers?
As rest of your teeth - Daily brushes and dental floss should be used. Use a tooth paste without a grinding agent.

Good dental care
There is a lower risk having a gum inflammation if you take care of your teeth. You should regular clean, scale and polish your teeth by your dental hygienist.

If you have a lot of plaque, the gum will very likely withdraw and with what show the gum edge - which does not look well.

Avoid to expose the veneers with to much forces
The porcelain veneers is not made to hold for big forces or punches. You should avoid biting on your fingernails or biting on hard things. If doing this, the veneer can be broken or be torn off. If you perform a contact sport you should use a mask.

Avoid to bite you teeth hard together or grind teeth
If you bite or grind teeth (Bruxism) it can easily destroy the veneer. If you know that you are grinding your teeth or the dentist finds proof of that - you must use a night guard during the night.

Avoid products that make stains
Despite that the veneers are resistant against stains, the cement that glued the veneer to the teeth is not. Especially on the veneers' edges.

God dental care and regular dentist visits, decreases the risk that the teeth will be stained. You can also avoid exaggerated consumption of coffee, tee, red wine and "dark" food and drinks.

What will I do if my veneer loosen or broken?
If you veneer loosens, take it out carefully because the veneer can still be good. If it's like that, the dentist can fasten it again. If it's broken, you must make a new one.

To check if the veneer is good, you can examine if the edges are smooth and symmetric. You can also examine if there is any piece left on the tooth or not. If not, the veneer could be good.
